Ani-Mayhem: The Gathering

The Ultimate CCG Crossover

Can't get enough of Ani-Mayhem? Got a bunch of Magic the Gathering cards wanting your attention? Fear no more, for the Planeswalkers have come...

Enter... Ani-Mayhem: The Gathering!!!

This variation of Magic: The Gathering works by the standard Type II Tournament rules with two BIG exceptions:
  1. Creatures are on the banned list, except for walls with no attack ability (such as illusionary wall, etc...) or special powers (Living Wall, Tinder Wall, Etc...). and
  2. In place of creatures, Ani-Mayhem character cards must be used

Conversion of Ani-Mayhem cards to Magic: The Gathering

Ani-Mayhem characters unfortuantly take much distress from being pulled into Dominaria, and therefore requires THREE turns to recover after being summoned (a bad case of summoning sickness! This does not apply to characters who have the phase ability, see above).

Characters who can change form can do so, but the magical powers in Dominaria prevent normal changing. To change form, you must tap 3 colorless mana, and thereafter, it is a cumaltive upkeep of 3 each round to maintain the changed form.

(Special rule regarding Ryo-Ohki in Ship form: Ryo-Ohki cannot be summoned in ship form at all on dominaria, as this would catistrophically change the balance of power in the game (as she would become a 6/7 creature with Flying and Banding, and only costing 1 colorless mana to cast!). Ryo-Ohki can be changed from Cabbit to Ship form by a special procedure.

To change Ryo-Ohki from Cabbit to Ship in Magic: The Gathering

  1. You must have both the Cabbit and the Ship in hand

  2. You must cast (in order) the following spells on the cabbit Blood Lust, Giant Growth, Divine Transformation, and Lightning Bolt (on the cabbit!)

  3. One all this is finished, you may sacrifice the cabbit to bring the ship out. The ship may transform back and forth normally.

It takes forever to pull off, but that's the idea, as the Ryo-Ohki ship is far too powerful in ship form too be usable in Magic: The Gathering

These rules are fairly makeshift, and very open to change.

Anyone who tries it and likes it, then let the creator, Dennis A. Thompson know.
